1. Seat Preloading & Soft vs. Metal Sealing

In fluid dynamics, maintaining zero seat leakage (API 598 Rate A) is critical. Under low-pressure conditions, a floating ball relies heavily on spring-loaded seats to maintain sealing force against the ball surface. Our design integrates heavy-duty helical or Belleville springs behind the seat rings. When system pressure increases, the fluid force pushes the ball firmly against the downstream seat, creating a dynamic tight seal. For HVAC water mixtures and mild industrial applications, soft seats made of PTFE, RPTFE, or Devlon are utilized.
